October 11, 2021 – PowerPhone, one of the nation’s leading providers of emergency call handling software has announced the release of a major update to Total Response, their flagship, protocol-based call handling software.

Built upon the premise that an efficient emergency response begins with effective information gathering from 911 callers, Total Response features more than eighty integrated call handling protocols for police, fire and emergency medical dispatching. By following a proven and patented  journalistic, investigative questioning approach, Total Response standardizes the questions asked and information relayed on any 911 call. The result is enhanced victim and responder safety, better preservation of critical evidence and less liability exposure for the 911 center.

Based upon the feedback from Total Response users nationwide, the update includes a new tourniquet procedure, important updates to the Naloxone procedure, an updated aspirin advisory procedure, adjustments to the active shooter and choking procedures and many more changes to reflect the current needs of emergency call centers. A complete list of changes can be downloaded here.

“No one is as smart as all of us. Our community of Total Response users are very passionate about providing the finest level of service to their callers and their responders. Their feedback has been crucial not only to the ongoing success of Total Response, but to the communities they serve.”
