PowerPhone, a national leader in 911 training and technology has announced the release of their entire continuing education curriculum online. A recent survey conducted by the company revealed a growing need for easing and more cost effective continuing education training for public safety personnel, with 78% of personnel expected to take at least one online course. With this launch, PowerPhone will provide 911 centers with greater options for dispatchers to train when and where they choose.

The movement requiring ongoing education as part of the 911 call taking job requirements has become a national initiative. PowerPhone’s bold decision to expand the company’s entire curriculum to an online environment addresses a pressing need at a time when travel, expense, and overtime costs are under increased scrutiny.

Chris Salafia, PowerPhone’s CEO said, “Since its inception, PowerPhone has been ready with timely, responsive solutions to meet market demand. This release of our entire curriculum online is the natural next step toward giving 911 centers efficient options for the continuing education and development of their employees.” Over 90 percent of the PowerPhone’s survey respondents agreed that a well-designed online course could be just as effective, or more so, than a classroom-based course.

To complement its best of breed emergency call handling software, Total Response, PowerPhone offers a wide range of courses on topics directly impacting 911. Says Salafia,

“We’re excited by this opportunity to help improve the standard of care being provided by 911 centers across the country. Our clients hold us to a high standard and we look forward to exceeding their expectations.”
