- In charge of curriculum development and management of the Training Corp for PowerPhone, Inc.
As leader of PowerPhone's Instructor Corps, George Deuchar is responsible for developing course curricula and designing new programs for emergency telecommunicators. He has trained approximately 30,000 9-1-1 operators in the United States, as well as international locations.
Captain Deuchar is a retired 26-year veteran from the Washington Twp. Police Department in New Jersey. During his law enforcement career he served in numerous capacities including Patrol, Investigations, Communications, Community Service, and Administration.
He is a graduate of William Paterson University with a BS degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned a Masters Degree in Administrative Science. Captain Deuchar is certified by the N.J. Dept. of Personnel and Rutgers University as a Certified Public Manager in Law Enforcement.
Captain Deuchar has been training law enforcement personnel as a PowerPhone Trainer since 1995 and has served as PowerPhones Director of Training since 2002. He travels extensively nationwide conducting training seminars related to Suicide Intervention and Suicide Callers, Liability, Crisis Negotiations and Communications, Critical Incident Stress and Stress Management, Domestic Violence, and Active Shooting Incidents. He has served as a team leader with the Morris County Critical Incident Debriefing Team and facilitates debriefings with Law Enforcement personnel throughout the country. Captain Deuchar has been featured in the HBO production Suicide, as well as numerous other features on CNN, A&E, Court TV, TLC, and the Biography Channel. He is the host for the truTV series Missing Persons Unit and was recently featured in the History Channels Docudrama The Real Wolfman.
